As we wrote about in September, PfC has signed an agreement with the women’s company “Five Dots” on the production of learning materials as part of our ECCE-project (Early Childhood Care and Education). Thanks to donation from Stiftelsen “Et Rikere Liv”, machines and materials for production have been purchased.
We are currently distributing the material to the day care centers, and by date, at least 150 young children have access to pedagogically learning material for children 0-4 years.
PfC is one of the organizations on the donor platform Shareitfair. In addition to the donation from Et Rikere Liv, gifts sent via the Shareitfair-app will be used to purchase more material to the day cares. By now, we have been able to supply one day care with learning material customized for the age group 0-4 years. We will continue buying – and supplying more day cares – as we receive gifts from Shareitfair.
Due to high demand, the women in Five Dots are guaranteed continued employment. The company have introduced flexible shifts, so that they also can take care of the family. As employees of Five Dots, the women earn significantly more than they did previously. All 14 employees previously made a living as waste pickers.
Do you want to help ensure young children in Ethiopia having access to suitable learning materials? Download the Shareitfair app and make your contribution directly. The more people who support us, the more day care centers we can equip.
